Brazil and Its Music

Dom served as the Jazz Drum Set Professor and Director of the ASU Latin Jazz Ensemble for 33 years at Arizona State University, retiring in 2023. He continues to perform in the Phoenix area. Throughout his career, Dom has had the privilege of performing with numerous jazz legends and spent ten years in Reno, Nevada, playing alongside show business icons such as Don Rickles, Joan Rivers, Debbie Reynolds, and many others. In 2011, Dom traveled to Brazil to perform and teach for two weeks, immersing himself in the country's rich culture and music.

In his upcoming lecture, Dom will offer an in-depth exploration of Brazilian music, covering its diverse regional styles, and providing a hands-on demonstration of the traditional percussion instruments from these areas.
