Overview 

Construction on the Cotton Lane Roadway Improvement Project is scheduled to begin in September 2026. The City of Goodyear is improving Cotton Lane from Estrella Parkway to south of the Gila River bridge. The project includes reconstructing the existing roadway and widening Cotton Lane to provide two northbound and two southbound travel lanes. Once complete, these improvements will increase roadway capacity, improve pavement conditions and provide a safer, more reliable connection through the Cotton Lane corridor.

Typical work hours: 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday

Construction schedules are subject to change based on weather, field conditions and other unforeseen circumstances. Occasional work outside of typical construction hours may be necessary. Please allow additional travel time, use caution when traveling through the work zone and follow all posted signs and directions from traffic-control personnel.

What to Expect

• Construction crews and equipment will be working throughout the project area.

• The City and contractor will strive to maintain northbound and southbound travel on Cotton Lane throughout construction.

• Temporary lane shifts, lane restrictions and intermittent traffic control operations will be necessary as work progresses.

• Drivers should watch for changing traffic patterns, reduced speeds, construction vehicles and directions from traffic control personnel.
