Welcome to the City of Goodyear 2026 Election Information page!

This page will be updated as needed to provide information on upcoming city elections, running for City Council and more.

The city holds elections in accordance with the City Charter and contracts with Maricopa County for election services. Elections for the office of Mayor and Council are held in the fall of even-numbered years, pursuant to the dates established by the State. The Mayor and Council are elected at large on a non-partisan ballot and serve staggered four-year terms. The Mayor has a two-term limit and Council has a three-term limit.

The city of Goodyear held its Primary Election on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, for the purpose of electing the Mayor and three Councilmembers. The following candidates appeared on the ballot. Names listed below were organized by office sought and listed chronologically based on the date of nomination filing.

Voter Registration Deadline 

You must be registered by June 22, 2026 at 11:59 PM to vote in the primary election on July 21, 2026. 

 To register to vote in Arizona, you must be:

• A U.S. citizen
• A resident of Arizona and the county listed on your registration
• 18 years of age or more by the next regular General Election
• Provide proof of Citizenship and Residency

Heading out of Town?

If you'll be away, you can request a one-time ballot mailing to anywhere in the United States. To request a temporary mailing address for your ballot, email: evreq@maricopa.gov or visit Request.Maricopa.Vote and select "One-Time Request." The deadline to submit a one-time request to have a ballot sent to a temporary address is July 10 at 5 PM.

July 21, 2026 Voting Locations, Dates and Hours

Voting locations are established by Maricopa County elections. The locations listed below are city facilities that will be utilized by the County as Vote Centers for this election. For official information and additional locations, visit locations.maricopa.vote or call 602-506-1511.

Goodyear City Hall - 1900 N. Civic Square

 Drop-Box only opens June 24 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM. City Hall is closed in observance of Independence Day on Friday, July 3.

In person voting begins Friday, July 10. Voters may also drop off their completed ballots during this time.

Political Sign Regulations

Use the interactive map below to identify designated sign-free zones shaded in grey. These areas, established in accordance with Resolution No. 2023-2336 and A.R.S. § 16-1019, prohibit political signs within municipal rights-of-way ("ROW") as adopted by the Goodyear City Council on October 30, 2023. Signs are allowed beginning 71 days prior to the election through 15 days after the General Election, starting May 11, 2026 for the 2026 election. Candidates not advancing to the General Election must remove political signs within 15 days following the Primary Election.
