A dedicated Buc-ee's travel route will be in place for opening week to help with traffic flow in and around the area.

The 6.5 mile route will loop through part of the city and take you directly into the Buc-ee's parking lot. 

If you are going to Buc-ee's during opening week, you must exit I-10 at Bullard Avenue. Both the westbound and eastbound I-10/Bullard off ramps will be Buc-ee's only traffic.

In case there are long traffic lines, make sure your car is stocked with plenty of water, snacks and gas.

When leaving Buc-ee's, all traffic will be directed to eastbound I-10. You will not be able to get on I-10 westbound.

Rideshare Services

Rideshare and carpooling is encouraged to help reduce congestion.

WeRIDE, the city’s microtransit program, will not provide service to Buc-ee’s during the grand opening week.

Be Prepared

Be patient, be safe and follow all posted traffic control signs and signals, and directions from traffic personnel and officers.

Do not stop, park, or stand on freeway ramps, shoulders, medians, or nearby roadways for photos or social content. Use only designated parking areas; illegal parking may result in citations or towing.

Officers will be along the route to help control traffic. Business access will remain available for all businesses along Bullard, including those on the Buc-ee's traffic route.

Buc-ee’s grand opening week is expected to draw large crowds. Visitors should plan ahead and come prepared for Arizona’s summer heat. Coming prepared is key. Plan for heat, crowds and traffic. 

Important Safety Information

• Arizona heat can become dangerous quickly in the summer, especially for guests spending time outdoors.
• Hydrate before you arrive and continue drinking water throughout your visit. Bring your own water bottle, access may be limited while waiting to enter.
• Consider limiting adult beverages before the event, as alcohol increases dehydration.
• Expect limited shade. Hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, and light clothing are strongly encouraged.
• Out‑of‑state visitors should be aware that Arizona heat can feel much more intense than expected.
• Children and older adults are especially vulnerable - monitor them closely and ensure they stay hydrated.
• Do not leave children, elderly passengers, or pets in parked vehicles, even briefly.
• Be aware of symptoms of heat illness, including dizziness, nausea, headaches, excessive sweating, or confusion. Seek shade and hydrate immediately if symptoms appear.
• Monitor local weather conditions and alerts, especially if monsoon activity is expected.
• Do not stop, park, or stand on freeway ramps, shoulders, medians, or nearby roadways for photos or social content.
• Use only designated parking areas; illegal parking may result in citations or towing.
• Expect heavy pedestrian activity in parking areas and nearby intersections; use caution.
• Parents should keep children close and pre‑establish a family meeting point in case someone becomes separated.
• Keep valuables out of sight and ensure vehicles are locked.
• Report any suspicious activity or emergencies to on‑site officers immediately, or call 911.
• Treat this like a major event and not a quick convenience stop.
• Follow the instructions of officers, staff, and posted signage.

The city of Goodyear understands the Buc-ee’s grand opening may impact nearby residents, businesses and travelers. The traffic route plan will help keep traffic moving safely while maintaining access to local businesses throughout the area.

Business access will remain available for all businesses along the Buc-ee's traffic route during the grand opening.

High traffic volumes and delays around Bullard Avenue and Interstate 10, are expected. If you are not attending the event, consider using alternate routes.

The city will be actively monitoring and adjusting traffic signals throughout opening week in real time to improve traffic flow.

Additional traffic impacts include:

• Eastbound Interstate 10 ramp at Estrella Parkway will be closed.
• Bullard between McDowell and I-10 will be closed to thru traffic. You will be able to enter to get on the westbound I-10 on ramp.

WeRIDE, the city’s microtransit program, will not provide service to Buc-ee’s during the grand opening week. Fares will be waived for all other destinations from June 22-28.

To get to GSQ, located on McDowell Rd. between PebbleCreek Pkwy and Bullard Ave., from Buc-ee’s on opening day exit the Buc-ee's parking lot and go eastbound on I-10, then exit Litchfield Rd. and head north on Litchfield Rd. to McDowell Rd. and make a left on McDowell Rd. to go westbound. You'll see some of the restaurants and Trader Joe's on the right after you pass Bullard Ave. Turn right on 150th Drive to check out more of the restaurants and Civic Square Park. 

Once on McDowell Rd. and Bullard, you will also see other popular eateries including Bubba's 33 and White Castle.
