Grease Traps/Interceptors are pretreatment devices used to prevent fats, oils, and grease (FOG) from entering the wastewater collection system. These devices separate the oils, greases, and food solids, allowing the remaining wastewater to flow through the sanitary sewer system.

Per City of Goodyear Ordinance 12A, all food service establishments (FSE) in Goodyear are required to install an appropriately sized grease trap or grease interceptor. The type, size, and maintenance of the device required is dependent on a variety of factors

 Don't flush baby wipes (not even the 'flushable' kind). 

Protect your pipes! Never dispose of cooking oil in your sink or garbage disposal.

FOG or Fats, Oil & Grease is any substance that contributes to build up and constricts flow in the sanitary sewer system.

Each Thanksgiving season, you can dispose of your cooking oil (grease) in self-service bins located at the Goodyear Ballpark. Follow the City of Goodyear on social media for updates on upcoming FOG disposal events.
