Goodyear Community Funding Grant
The Goodyear Community Funding Grant application period for FY 2027 is open from April 1 - 30, 2026. Click here to be directed to the application.

About the Community Funding Grant Program
Non-profits that provide human or social services to benefit Goodyear residents. The services provided should not be duplicated by the city or another service provider. Agencies should be able to track the number of Goodyear residents served.
Please be advised: Goodyear community grant funding recipients are prohibited from using Goodyear community grant funding to engage in inherently religious activities, such as proselytizing, scripture study, or worship. Funded faith-based organizations (FBOs) may, of course, engage in inherently religious activities; however, these activities must be separate in time or location from the funded program. Moreover, funded FBOs must not compel program beneficiaries to participate in inherently religious activities. Funded faith-based organizations must also not discriminate on the basis of religion in the delivery of services or benefits.
The City allocated $214,400 for community funding grants in the FY26 budget.
Past grant awards have ranged from $1,500 to $30,000.
Applications are typically opened in April/ May and are usually due within 3-4 weeks of the opening date.
The FY27 application period is OPEN from April 1, 2026, to April 30, 2026.

Be prepared to provide:
- Applicant organization and associated contact information, including the Authorized Representative Acknowledgement Form, signed by the organization's authorized representative.
- A current board list, including home city/zip for each member.
- The most recent board approved treasurer's report or audit.
- A program- or project-specific budget reflecting the amount requested from the city as a "direct cost" and the balance of funding needed to execute the program or service as a "cost share." Note that the cost share will not be treated as a match and there is not a match requirement for this grant. The city is interested in seeing how its investment is being leveraged by other resources.
- Information about the population served, which Goodyear Community Grant Funding priority is primarily addressed by the program or service to be funded.
- A description of the program or service to be funded and how, specifically, it addresses identified priority(ies).
- Evidence to support the need for this program or service in Goodyear.
- Criteria to participate in the program or service.
- How and where Goodyear residents can access the program or service.
- How the program or service will be sustained following funding provided through this application.
Goodyear is especially interested to know:
- The number of Goodyear residents or households served by your organization in the last fiscal year, as well as the number forecast to be served by the grant and how they will be identified/tracked.
Only one of the following combinations is requested:
- unduplicated households
- duplicated households
- unduplicated residents
- duplicated residents
Note: the number reported is considered "duplicated" if the household or resident is counted each time they access the program or service. It is considered "unduplicated" if the household or resident is counted only once during the reporting period, no matter how many times they were provided with programs or services.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

City staff reviews the applications for completeness and eligibility. A subcommittee of three council members review and discuss the applications and make funding recommendations. The subcommittee recommendations are sent to the full City Council for approval at a Regular meeting.
Checks are awarded in late July/early August.
Goodyear City Council adopted the Community Funding Policy for Grant Awards to Nonprofits wat the April 7, 2025, regular meeting.
If you are the recipient of a Community Grant Funding Award, your six-month progress and financial reports will be due the 3rd Monday in January. Your final reports are due the 3rd Monday in July. Reports should be submitted via eCivis.
